Installation Manual:
One crucial step: Before connecting the emulator, it’s essential to disable the derate mode. The truck must not be in derate mode during the emulator connection because once the emulator is connected, it won’t be possible to disable the derate mode. For the emulator to function properly, the EAS4 control unit may be damaged, but it should be electrically functional enough for the emulator to learn the VIN number from the EAS4 unit. The NOx sensor before the catalyst must be operational. Connect the emulator as follows:
PACCAR GHG14 EAS3
Emulator need learn the VIN from Vehicle. AfterTreatment system may be faulty but EAS ECU need work during VIN Learning.
1. Locate NOx Sensor Outlet and Connect Emulator in place of NOx Sensor (NOx Sensor Outlet is located at back of the Exhaust)
2. Switch Ignition ON, Emulator will learn the VIN. It take 1 minute
3. Switch Ignition OFF
4. Remove Fuse for EAS ECU:
Peterbilt 579 / Kenworth T680 – N11 Fuse
Peterbilt 389 – F6 Fuse
5. Disconnect: PM Sensor, DEF Level/Quality Sensor, Exhaust Temperature Sensor.
6. Switch Ignition ON
7. If all errors related to the DEF and DPF emissions system are inactive, the emulator should be screwed into the original NOx sensor’s location behind the catalyst.
